Ai CEO Investment Climate Summit 2013

10 October 2013

The Ritz Carlton Hotel, Washington DC, USA

A smart, predictable investment climate is critical to developing a vibrant private sector in Africa, that is capable of creating sustainable jobs, trading within the continent and domestically producing competitive high quality goods and services for domestic consumption and global markets. A number of donor initiatives exist to promote investment policy reforms, but there remains a need for businesses operating in Africa to interact with these programmes and policy makers from African governments to work through investment climate issues and specific regulatory bottlenecks stifling important investment projects. Positive investment news from Africa is rarely reported by Western media organisations. To attract more investment, Africa needs to raise its profile, by showcasing genuine examples of outstanding investment leadership and success.

Cost of participation is US $1595 per person

Objectives

The Africa investor CEO Investment Climate Summit, in association with the World Bank Group, is a business forum designed to facilitate action, to highlight and address project specific investment climate challenges and shed light on Africa’s investment success stories.

This Summit will bring together private investors with significant investment projects, subject to regulatory challenges, to debate practical solutions to advance those challenges in partnership with donors, the African Union, NEPAD, RECs and African policy makers. Through facilitated discussions the Summit will look at sector specific and regional investment projects that can support Africa in job creation, regional integration and enhance Africa’s competitiveness as a global investment destination.
