Charity programme feeds the needy

Wednesday, 14 Aug 2013

About 140 volunteers from all over Windhoek and outside gathered at the Ombili Community Centre in Katutura recently to cook, prepare and feed the less fortunate community in Havana.

Each volunteer contributed a piece of clothing, a blanket, food or a drink to also play their part in the outreach. When the group arrived at Havana at the open field, the children were already waiting for them as they started jumping with joy when they saw the group approaching. Before the outreach, Kapepo Samuel, owner of the Kids Soup-Kitchen Namibia and his team had allocated needy households from the Havana Community, who then received food items such as milk, cooldrink, rice, top score and orosat the outreach from the group.

The programme is an annual charity outreach under Hella Investments with the aim of giving back to the community by providing food for the less fortunate, and also by educating them about cleanliness, health and other issues such as HIVand AIDS.
